About The Nest
Enormous care goes into planning a birth. Almost none goes into planning the three months afterwards.
This is a planning workbook for after. Not a guide to newborns — a plan for your household, made while you still have the attention to make one.
It covers recovery honestly, rest and where it will actually come from, and when to call someone — with a page listing what needs your provider straight away and what needs 911, for you and for the baby. There's a section on feeding that starts with what you want it to look like, and a page on where the baby will sleep, decided while it's still a decision.
Then visitors, who does what around the house, and the help you'll actually accept, because a vague offer isn't help. The last section is about you, the part that gets asked about least.
What's inside
- Your body — recovery, rest, when to call someone, and what to call about
- Feeding — what you want it to look like, the first two weeks, if it's hard, and where the baby sleeps
- Your house and your people — visitors, who does what, older children and pets, the help you'll accept
- You — how you're doing, and what you want someone to notice
At a glance
- What it is
- A planning workbook for the twelve weeks after birth. It was called The Fourth Trimester Workbook until September 2026.
- Who it's for
- Anyone expecting a baby, and whoever will be at home with them, whatever your family looks like and however you plan to feed.
- How you use it
- Around 34 to 36 weeks, a page or two at a time, together if there are two of you. Leave it somewhere visible afterwards.
- Format
- One PDF, US Letter, 24 pages, designed to be printed and written in.
- Printing
- Any home printer. Put the numbers page on the fridge.
- What you receive
- An email right after checkout with a download link for Mycelia_TheNest_v1.1_2026-09.pdf.
For the practical side — setting up the bedside, the bathroom and the freezer — there's Preparing the Nest, a set of eight checklists for $9.
Before you buy
- How you get it
- A download link, emailed right after checkout. Each link works for 7 days and 5 downloads; if it runs out, request fresh links on the order page or write to contact@myceliabirth.com.
- Yours to print
- For you and your household — as many copies as you need, for yourself and your support people. Please don't resell, share or post the file.
- Updates included
- If I revise it, you get the new version free, by email.
- Refunds
- Within 14 days, for any reason, and you can keep the file. See the shop terms.
- Reading it
- Real text, not scanned images, so a screen reader can read it and you can search and zoom. Need a different format? Ask me and I'll sort it out.
- What this is
- Educational and supportive material from a non-clinical doula practice. It doesn't diagnose anything and it doesn't replace your midwife, doctor or pediatrician. If something worries you, call them. In an emergency, call 911.
