Birth Support

Support for preparing, navigating, and being held through birth.

From your first questions to the moment you meet your baby, birth support meets you exactly where you are.

Birth Doula Support

Steady support through pregnancy, labor, birth, and the transition home.

Birth is deeply personal. Your support should be, too.

Mycelia Birth Co. provides individualized, non-clinical emotional, informational, and physical support throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and the early postpartum period — with care centered around your goals, preferences, autonomy, and family.

DONA-trained birth doula, certification in progress through DONA International. Close to a decade of healthcare experience — pediatrics, NICU/PICU, and emergency care — and AHA PEARS and CPR/BLS certified.

Overview

You don’t have to prepare for birth alone.

Birth doula support creates space to ask questions, explore your options, prepare for the unexpected, and build a relationship with someone who understands what matters to you before labor begins.

During birth, support may shift from quiet reassurance and physical comfort to movement, positioning, partner guidance, informational support, and continuous presence.

What’s Included

Three Prenatal Visits

Three approximately 90-minute prenatal visits, each with its own job.

  • Visit one, around 24–30 weeks. Your history, your hopes, what is worrying you, and who is already in your corner.
  • Visit two, around 32–35 weeks. Your preferences, and how to make decisions as things unfold.
  • Visit three, around 36–37 weeks. Comfort measures, the practical plan for the day, and early feeding. If you have a partner or support person, this is the one to bring them to — and if you don’t, I use the time for you.
  • One short virtual check-in between that last visit and your birth.

Booking late compresses the visits rather than losing them, and if your baby arrives before we have used them all, the remaining time becomes postpartum support.

What we cover across the three:

  • Pregnancy and birth history
  • Birth goals and priorities
  • Concerns or fears
  • Birth preferences
  • Comfort measures
  • Movement and positioning
  • Common interventions
  • Induction preparation
  • Cesarean birth preparation

Four Weeks of Communication

Brief phone, text, and email support for four weeks after birth.

Insurance & Medicaid

Some insurance plans may offer coverage or reimbursement for doula services. Pennsylvania Medicaid also provides doula benefits for eligible members.

You are still welcome to reach out regardless of insurance coverage. We can discuss current service and payment options during your Introductory Call.
