What the portal is

Your client portal is where your appointments, documents, messages and invoices all live in one place. You can open it in any browser at portal.myceliabirth.com. If you add it to your phone’s home screen, it gets its own icon and opens like an app — no typing the address, no hunting through tabs.

It takes about a minute. Find your phone below.

iPhone or iPad

Use Safari for this. It’s the one that reliably offers it on an iPhone.

  1. Open portal.myceliabirth.com in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button — the square with an arrow pointing up.
  3. Scroll down the list and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Tap Add, at the top right.
  5. Close Safari and open the portal from its new icon.

Samsung phone (Samsung Internet)

  1. Open portal.myceliabirth.com in Samsung Internet.
  2. Tap the menu — the three lines, usually at the bottom right.
  3. Tap Add page to.
  4. Tap Home screen.
  5. Tap Add, then open the portal from its new icon.

The wording shifts a little between versions of Samsung Internet. If you don’t see Add page to, look for Add to or a bookmark icon with a Home screen option — it’s the same thing.

Samsung Internet also keeps its own notification settings, separate from the portal’s. You may find some of them already switched on.

Android phone (Chrome)

  1. Open portal.myceliabirth.com in Chrome.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu, at the top right.
  3. Tap Add to Home screen. Some phones say Install app.
  4. Tap Install, or Add.
  5. Open the portal from its new icon.

Choosing your emails

The portal emails you when something changes. You choose which kinds.

  1. Sign in to the portal.
  2. Open Account. On a phone it’s under More.
  3. Under Email notifications, pick what you’d like to hear about — messages, intake forms, contracts, documents and announcements.
  4. Tap Save.

Invoices always come by email, so they aren’t on that list.

Everything is in your portal either way. The emails are a nudge, not the only way to find out.

Notifications on your phone

If you’d rather be told straight away, the portal can send a notification to your phone or computer instead of waiting for an email.

  1. Add the portal to your home screen using the steps above, and open it from its icon.
  2. Sign in, then open Account. On a phone it’s under More.
  3. Find Notifications on this device and tap Turn on for this device.
  4. Your phone will ask permission. Choose Allow.
  5. Tap Send a test to make sure it arrives.

You choose what to hear about, and you can turn it off again at any time. On an iPhone or iPad this only works from the home screen icon, not from a Safari tab.

A notification never shows what was written — only that something is waiting for you in your portal. Text messages aren’t available yet.

Trouble signing in?

You sign in with your email address and a one-time code. There’s no password to remember. Type in your email, wait for the code to arrive, type it in, and you’re through.

If the code doesn’t turn up, check your spam or junk folder first — that’s where it usually is. Still nothing? Reply to the email I sent you and we’ll sort it out together.
